What do people do to stay healthy


People do many different things to stay healthy. What do you do for good health? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.



Health is our most valuable treasure which is why people do everything they can to keep themselves in a good condition. When you are healthy you are free to enjoy life without having any restrictions. However, it is when you become ill that you learn to appreciate it. This is the reason why I think we should pay more attention on our state of health, so that we can prevent illnesses. There are several ways of taking care of our body but to my mind, the three main steps are –regular sports activities, a balanced diet and avoiding stress. Here are some of the things I do to stay healthy.


First of all, I do exercises every morning, so that I can prepare my body and my mind for the long hours at school. In this way I feel fit during the whole day and do not get tired easily. Secondly. I go walking in the open air every weekend-either to the Vitosha Mountain or to the park nearby. The air in the big city is very polluted, which causes asthma and different allergies. I also like playing games with my friends because it is healthy and amusing at the same time. After having done some sport I feel refreshed and full of energy.


Furthermore, I pay attention on what I eat- I prefer fruits and vegetables which help to reduce the risk of cancer and heart diseases. I also like chicken, milk products, cereals and potatoes, mainly foods which are low in fat and are good resources of vitamins and minerals. Healthy eating is about getting the right balance of foods by eating a wide variety of them. Every morning I drink a cup of tea, so that I can wake up fully and do not feel sleepy during the day. In my opinion, the worst enemies of our body are alcohol and cigarettes, which is worth bearing in mind, if you become tempted by the numerous advertisements on TV. In addition, I try to reduce the amount of sugar rich products like biscuits, cakes and chocolate.


In conclusion, I try to avoid stress because mental pressure also leads to illnesses. However, it is difficult not to pay attention to problems in everyday life as these are everywhere. Nature is one of the best soothers of stress. Taking a quiet walk in a park or watching a beautiful sunset can do wonders. Even reminiscing such a scene from your past, or simply imagining one, allows your stress level to drop. Also, one of the best ways to let off steam is to share your problem with a trustworthy person.


I believe that these simple rules are sufficient for a good health and although sometimes it is not easy to keep them, it is worth trying. All we do for our health we do for our happiness.
