"I love to fly ...I am going to fly 'til I fly solo, fly 'til I die."- Jessica Dubroff

Jessica Whitney Dubroff were born underwater in a five-foot-square birthing tub, without doctors or midwives in Wareham, on May 5-th 1988 in family of Lisa Blair Hathaway and Lloyd Dubroff.Jessica had 2-years bigger brother, Joshua, and a 4-years smaller sister, Jasmine. The children were schooled at home and learned to read, write and do arithmetic through such activities as flying, riding horses and even helping rebuild a house. She took horseback riding lessons in exchange for taking care of the animals. Jessica seemed to be the embodiment of the forthrightness, passion, and courage. By all accounts, she was an extraordinary girl. Home educated, her toys were tools - hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches-not the stereotypical Barbie dolls. On her sixth birthday when she was taken to the airport near her home and met a pilot-then her love of flying started. At six years of age, she took her first flight lessons on "Cessna 177B". The airplane had a double set of controls to allow Mr. Reid,who is her instructor, to take over in an emergency.

This cute little girl almost 7, with 35 flying hours, wanted to do a most brave thing-to break the record in "Guinness" book and become the youngest person to fly across America. On April 11-th 1996, Jessica with her father and flight instructor,was crushed and killed her shortly after take off from the Cheyenne airport, the plane plowed into a driveway in a residential community.It began as a father-daughter adventure. The fact that something went wrong on Jessica's last flight does not diminish the boldness of her dream or repudiate her pursuit of it.Had she succeeded? She would have flown about 6,500 miles in eight days with other scheduled stops in different towns,but she died.

I respect people, who are ready to give their lives for their dreams, doesn`t matter what people say. Jessica had an extraordinary courage, to jump over her age and to take off in the last flight on April 11-th 1996.This last flight shocked all the country and all aviators, letting the name of Jessica forever in the hearts of people, making her a symbol of courage. She will stay forever in my heart, helping me know how precious our dreams are, even if they are inpossible.
