Major disorders of the digestive system.

Gastritis is an inflammation of the gastric mucous membrane, which is most often due to dietary faults – overeating, intake of course, chili or spicy food, popped drinks and alcohol, certain drugs, etc. It’s manifested with pain after eating nausea, vomiting and abundant salivation. Observing a diet, that avoids irritants , leads to recovery.

The peptic ulcer

The peptic ulcer (also known as ulcus pepticum) is small wound, located in the lower part of the oesophagus in the stomach or in the entrance of the duodenum. It’ s symptoms are pain, nausea, vomiting, reduction of body mass, and general weakness. Treatment requires first of all avoiding physical and mental strain, giving up smoking and alcohol, and abstaining from the above mentioned foods. Regular feeding is of greater significance – 4 or 5 times daily, without overeating, as slow and sufficient chewing of nonirritant and nourishing food.


Enterocolitises are inflammations of the intestinal mucous membrane, usually due to erroneous feeding, overfatigue, infections with bacteria or viruses, spoiled food, etc. patients are week, get tired easily, feel pain and malaise in the abdomen, rumbling in the intestine, diarrhoea, etc. If the intestinal villi are affected, absorption might be strongly disturbed and signs of malnutrition and avitaminosis may surface.


Meteorism is a distention of the abdominal wall, caused by the accumulatoin of gas or air in the intestine. The patient feels sever extending pain.

Acute viral hepatitis

Acute viral hepatitis is a frequent infection disease of the liver, particularly in childhood. There are three subtypes, caused by three different viruses. The viruses are very resistant to sterilization. The most common type hepatitis is transmitted trough feeding with dirty hands, poorly washed dishes and cutlery, using insanitary toilet rooms, etc. Hepatitis is also called “dirty hand disease” . It develops 2 to 6 weeks after the infection and is manifested with jaundice of the skin and the whites of the eyes (sclerae), loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and general weakness. Feces become lighter, while urine gets darker. If it’s not cured completely, the disease modifies into chronic hepatitis that is very dangerous and may lead to development of cirrhosis.
